Rupert Murdoch Separated from his 4th wife Jerry Hall last year

92-years-old Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch is all set to tie the knot for the fifth time. Rupert will be married to 66-year-old Ann Lesley Smith, a former police chaplain. This will be Lesley Smith's third marriage. Both met in September last year in California. Both of them are likely to get married in the summer. Rupert Murdoch separated from his fourth wife last year.

Murdoch told the New York Post, one of his media channels, "I was afraid of falling in love - but I knew it would be my last. I am happy." Murdoch revealed that he proposed to Smith on St. Patrick's Day. While Ann Lesley Smith said, "I am a widow of 14 years. Like Rupert, my husband Chester Smith was a businessman. Murdoch has six children with his first three wives. He divorced his fourth wife last year. In 2016, aged 85, Murdoch married 65-year-old model Jerry Hall. The marriage lasted for just 6 years and the two got separated in 2022.

First Marriage: Murdoch was first married in 1956 to Patricia Booker, a Melbourne-born flight attendant and model for department stores. This marriage lasted till 1967.  They had one child. 

Second Marriage: The second marriage took place in 1967 with Anna Maria Torv, a former newspaper journalist. The 2nd marriage lasted until 1999 after 32 years of togetherness. Elisabeth, Lachlan and James are their three kids.

Third Marriage: Rupert Murdoch wed Wendi Deng, a businesswoman of Chinese descent in 1999. They were married for 14 years. They have two children Grace and Chloe. The couple got separated in 2013.

Fourth Marriage: The Media tycoon married former supermodel Jerry Hall at London in 2016. They got divorced in 2022.

Murdoch was born in Australia in 1931, but is currently a United States citizen. In 1952, he became MD of Australia News Limited, a company inherited from his father. After this, he rapidly expanded the media business in the 50s and 60s. The Murdochs own major newspapers and channels in the US, Australia and the UK. He also owns several newspapers in Britain including The Times, Sunday Times, The Sun.

Notably, In the United States, Murdoch owns The Wall Street Journal, New York Post, Dow Jones Local Media Group, 7 News Information Services, Fox TV Group and Sky Italia. Murdoch's Twenty-First Century Fox is a well-known company in the film and television industry. He has stakes in popular sports channel Star Sports, popular TV channel National Geographic and British broadcaster Sky. By 2000 News Corp included 800 companies and had operations in 50 countries. Forbes ranked Murdoch as the 33rd richest American in 2013.
