In a humanitarian gesture, Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority allows Indian aircraft into its airspace after 6 years for a medical emergency

DUBAI: In a remarkable display of humanity and international cooperation, an Air India Express flight, operating under flight number IX-192, had to make an emergency landing at Karachi, Pakistan, due to a sudden deterioration in a passenger's health. The incident occurred on October 14 during a flight departing from Dubai, UAE, on route to India. The flight crew acted swiftly, identifying Karachi Airport in Pakistan as the nearest available landing spot, leading to a successful emergency landing.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority promptly granted emergency permission for the flight to enter Pakistan's airspace, which had been inaccessible to Indian aircraft for the past six years. This unexpected but vital concession allowed the aircraft to make a safe landing at Karachi airport around 12:30 pm local time.
