Gravesend Gurdwara Sikh Temple Attack Latest News Today: In shocking news from Gravesend, Kent, a teenager was arrested for attempting a murder after two people were reportedly stabbed with a sword at a Sikh temple.
As per locals, a man entered the Gurdwara Sahib and attacked people with a weapon. In the video, an officer was shown grappling with a man on the floor. There was blood on his face and he was being restrained by several cops. Also, large parts of the area were sealed off by the officers.
They were called to the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara just after 8 pm. An air ambulance arrived nearby. Two people were injured but police said their injuries were not life-threatening.
A spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 8.10 pm on Thursday, July 11 to a report of a disturbance at a Gurdwara on Saddington Street in Gravesend."
"It was reported that two people had sustained injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening and are being treated locally," the spokesman added.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder attempt. The inquiries are outgoing and the officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. Also, police have not confirmed reports of the sword being used.
He was later seen pleading for an ambulance. The women are seen comforting each other and inspecting each other's cuts, arms, and hands dripping with blood.
One Twitter user wrote: "A man was arrested after he carried a kirpan at Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara in Gravesend and attacked and injured congregants, some with cuts on their hands and arms."
