Neera Tanden will continue to shape and implement my domestic policies: President Biden

WASHINGTON: United States President Joe Biden on Friday nominated Indian-American citizen Neera Tanden as his domestic policy advisor, who will assist him in formulating and implementing the domestic policy agenda.

"I am pleased to announce that Neera Tanden will continue to shape and implement my domestic policies, from economic mobility and racial equality to health care, immigration and education," Biden said. He will replace Susan Rice, who has been Biden's domestic policy adviser until now. "Tanden will be the first Asian-American to lead one of the three key policy councils in White House history," Biden said.

He said, “As senior advisor and staff secretary, Neera oversaw the decision-making processes in my domestic, economic and national security team. She has 25 years of experience in public policy and has worked with three presidents and has led one of the nation's largest think tanks for nearly a decade."

Neera Tanden currently serves as a Senior Advisor to President Biden and the Staff Secretary. She has worked in the administrations of both Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. She is the head and CEO of the Center for American Progress and the Center for American Progress Action Fund.
