Canada News: Thousands Rally in Brampton Against Attacks on Hindu Temples

Canada Brampton Hindu Sabha Mandir Temple Attack Latest news: Over a thousand Canadian Hindus gathered outside the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton on Monday evening to protest against a series of attacks on Hindu temples across Canada. The demonstration came just a day after the temple was targeted by Khalistani extremists, during the sacred Diwali weekend.

The solidarity rally, organized by the Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA), called on Canadian politicians and law enforcement agencies to take stronger action against the perpetrators and to cease any further support for Khalistani activities. CoHNA shared details of the rally on social media platform X, highlighting the alarming increase in attacks on Hindu temples from coast to coast in Canada.

"Over a thousand #CanadianHindus have gathered in Brampton to protest against the increasingly brazen attacks on Hindu Temples," CoHNA posted. "We ask Canada to stop this #Hinduphobia now!" they added, drawing attention to the widespread concern within the community.

The incident on Sunday saw a violent disruption at an Indian consular camp held at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton. The Hindu Canadian Foundation, a non-profit organization, shared videos of the attack, showing Khalistani extremists targeting women and children.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the "deliberate attack" on the temple, describing the intimidation of Indian diplomats as "appalling." In a statement on X, he said, "Such acts of violence will never weaken India's resolve. We expect the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law."

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also issued a strong condemnation, urging the Canadian government to protect places of worship and prosecute those responsible for the violence. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized concerns for the safety of Indian nationals in Canada, calling on the Canadian authorities to take necessary actions to prevent such incidents in the future.
