On Baisakhi, Sikhs remember the Creation Of Khalsa 1699

AMERICA: Two US parliamentarians have presented a proposal in the House of Representatives, the lower house of Parliament, to celebrate April 14 as National Sikh Day. Recognizing the contribution of the Sikh community in the United States to empowering and inspiring people, lawmakers have introduced the resolution.

The Proposal states that Sikhs should celebrate April 14 (Baisakhi) as National Sikh Day. It recalled the Khalsa order established in 1699. The festival of Baisakhi plays an important role in maintaining the history of the religion and the identity of the Sikhs. Member of Parliament Mary Gay Scanlan introduced the resolution and said that the Sikh community serves people through religious programs similar to the principles of America.

Mary said that the people of America respect the Sikh community for making the country prosperous. The resolution states that on Baisakhi day, Sikhs remember the Creation Of Khalsa 1699. The MP said that this resolution is appropriate to celebrate Baisakhi with Sikhs around the world and to honor the contribution made by Sikhs in the United States of America.
