Uttarakhand 1747 roads opened, Traffic restored, Relief operations Continue Latest News: 1747 blocked roads have been opened so far, and traffic has been restored on 95.62% of the roads that were earlier blocked in various parts of mountain state of Uttarakhand, following incessant rainfall in the past few weeks, the Chief Minister of the state said.
A fresh yellow and an orange alert have been issued in the state for today, warning of heavy to very heavy and an intense spell of rainfall at isolated places.
Meanwhile, disaster management and relief operations are ongoing at a war footing in the state.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami earlier today, in a post on X said, “Continuous efforts are being made to clear the routes blocked due to heavy rains and debris. In line with the instructions given to officials, 1747 roads have been opened so far, while work is in progress on 80 roads”.”
“Traffic has been restored on 95.62% of the roads obstructed by debris and landslides,” he added.
JCB machines and necessary resources had already been deployed in areas, in advance, where there is a possibility of landslides and the blocking of routes.
“Clear instructions were given to officials that immediate action should be initiated as soon as the roads are closed. As a result, routes in the affected areas are being opened rapidly, and the public is receiving relief. Continuous inspections of the disaster-affected areas are being conducted, and I am also regularly reviewing the relief and rescue operations,” CM added in the post.
CM said, “The safety and convenience of the residents of the state is the topmost priority of our government.”
