Ludhiana: A woman arrested on charges of fraud committed suicide inside police station, Dugri here on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ramandeep (29), a resident of Dugri area here. She committed suicide by hanging in the bathroom of the police station where she was kept overnight after her arrest on charges of ATM fraud.
Commissioner of Police (CP), Ludhiana RN Dhoke told babushahi.com that the deceased was arrested after her name cropped up in the course of investigation of multiple ATM fraud cases.
“She was brought to the police station on Thursday and was questioned for whole day. Several FIRs were registered against her in Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mumbai,” said the CP. The deceased was arrested along with her live-in companion of last 7-8 years. Both were lodged in the police lockup.
