Uber bike taxis launched in Punjab, Manpreet Badal flags off their first set

SAS Nagar: Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal on Tuesday launched the Amarinder government's ambitious employment generation scheme Apni Gadi Apna Rozgar. Under this, he flagged off from Mohali the first set of 100 Uber bike taxis, a novel employment concept in Punjab.

The government claimed the scheme would generate 40,000 employment opportunities. The scheme was to be launched by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh who was not available for the launch ceremony owning to sudden demise of his mother. Her cremation is being held today at Patiala.
