Chandigarh: The Punjab government has issued new instructions regarding the ex-India leave for its officials and employees.

Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Personnel Department said that it has now been decided that a maximum of three months ex-India leave will be approved by the competent authority of the department, earlier, approval from Minister of concerned department was required to avail three months ex-India leave.

He further added that if any officer or employee is required to avail ex-India leave for more than three months in a genuine hardship case then the competent authorities would issue leave with prior approval of the department of Personnel. Earlier, more than three months of ex-India leave was obtained through the department of Personnel with the approval of the Chief Minister.
