Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Police used water cannons to disperse the protesting BJP Kissan morcha members who were demanding the full loan waiver from Punjab government.

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Police used water cannons to disperse the protesting BJP Kissan morcha members who were demanding the full loan waiver from Punjab government.

The members of the BJP Kissan morcha had decided to gherao the official residence of Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh demanding the full loan waiver. They are not happy with the Punjab government’s announcement of loan waiver of Rs 2 lakhs for small and marginal farmers.

The members carried out their march from BJP Punjab office, Sector 37 but the police stopped them at the entrance of Sector 25. The protesters were asked to submit their memorandum to the concerned officials but they tried to break the barricades. The Chandigarh Police finally used water cannons to disperse the protestors.
