Kusumjit Sidhu takes oath as a chairperson of Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission--PSERC

Irrigation and Power Minister Rana Gurjeet Singh today administered oath of office and secrecy to Ms. Kusumjit Sidhu as Chairperson of Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) and Ms. Anjuli Chandra as Member of PSERC.

Kusumjit Sidhu, a retired Punjab Cadre IAS officer of the 1979 batch, and MS. Anjuli Chandra, a retired Chief Engineer from the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) were sworn in amidst a simple function held here at Punjab Bhawan.

With the appointments of Chairperson and Member, the Commission will work at its full capacity. The Commission as per the Electricity Act, 2003 performs various duties such as to determine tariff, transmission & wheeling charges and making Regulations. The Commission plays a vital role in watching the interests of the consumers and Utilities as well.

Prominent amongst others, Mr. Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, MLA, Anurag Agarwal, Financial Commissioner Punjab,  Vikas Pratap, Secretary, Medical Education and Research, and  A. Venu Prasad, Principal Secretary Power and CMD PSPCL  were also present on the occasion.
