CTU to gift free travel facility to women on 'Rakhi'

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) has given a wonderful gift to women on Rakhi. The women can roam in the city free of cost on CTU buses. First time in the history of the city, the transport department has come up with a unique gift for women on Rakhi.

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) has given a wonderful gift to women on Rakhi. The women can roam in the city free of cost on CTU buses. First time in the history of the city, the transport department has come up with a unique gift for women on Rakhi.

The authorities have decided that the women will get the facility of free ride on buses.  The General Manager of CTU issued a press release stating that the CTU has decided to provide free travel facility to women on the ‘Raksha Bandhan’ in all Ac and non Ac buses.  However the facility will not be available for CTU buses on long routes.

 Talking to Rozana Spokesman, Rajni Gupta, resident of sector 41 said, “It’s a good initiative as the working women will get benefit of the free ride on Rakhi. We have to go to our brother’s place so it’s a noble gesture to pay respect to women.”

In Haryana, the women get the facility every year on Rakhi as the HRTC give them facility to travel free of cost on the day.
