Chandigarh: The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has summoned the Deputy Commissioner, Sangrur and SSP Sangrur on August 8 in the matter pertaining to boycott of Dalits in village Dhandiwal in Sangrur District.

Disclosing this here today, the Chairman of the Commission Rajesh Bagha said that it had come to the notice of the Commission that some landlords have boycotted the dalit families and announced Rs.5000/- fine for anybody provide work or having social links with them.

Mr. Bagha further said that taking suo-motto notice of the matter, the commission has decided on a probe and keeping with that the Deputy Commissioner Sangrur and SSP Sangrur have been summoned personally on August 8, 2017.
