Chandigarh: To ensure the right to vote of workers in the by-election of sarpanches/panches of gram panchayat in Punjab to be held on August 6 (Sunday), the Punjab Government has declared it a paid holiday in all shops and commercial establishments where Sunday is not observed as a weekly off. A spokesman of the Labour Department announced this.
