Earlier, five members of Bambiha gang were nabbed by the Cops
CHANDIGARH: The Special Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police has arrested two more members of Davinder Bambiha Gang. They have been identified as Sahil alias Mukul Rana (26) resident of Gillco Valley, Mohali and Jimmy Bansal (29) of Sector 45 Burail. Sahil originally hails from Maloya, Chandigarh. Earlier, five members of Bambiha gang were arrested recently. Their targets were Punjabi singers Babbu Maan and Mankirt Aulakh. According to sources, Foreign-based Lucky Patial is operating the gang in India through WhatsApp and other social media platforms.
The Gang members used to extort money from traders, hotels, nightclubs, restaurant owners, builders and property dealers in the tricity including Chandigarh. The arrested members of the two gangs have been nabbed on March 12 in the Sector 49 police station in a case registered under the Arms Act, Extortion and Criminal Conspiracy.
Based on an intelligence tip-off, the police first arrested Mukul Rana, the Circus Ground, near the bus stand in Sector 17. 09 mm pistol, 8 cartridges and one magazine were recovered from his possession. Jimmy Bansal was arrested following revelations during his 3-day police remand. A country pistol and two cartridges were recovered from his possession.
An Excise Act case is registered against Sahil Rana in Derabassi, Mohali. He worked as a financier. On the other hand, Jimmy Bansal already had a robbery case registered against him in November 2014 in Sector 17 police station. He also worked as a financier. 7 members of the Bambiha gang including these two have been arrested by the operation cell in the last few days.
