Interacting with the devotees, the Chief Minister stated that this pilgrimage is dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the martyrdom of the Ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The scheme was launched on October 29, 2025, from the village Bararwal, he added, noting that the selection of devotees has been done in a transparent manner through a draw.

CM Mann stated that the initiative fulfills the long-standing wish of elderly people who have desired to visit sacred religious sites. Under the scheme, devotees will visit Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal, Jallianwala Bagh, the Partition Museum, and other religious and historical places in Amritsar,  regardless of caste, religion, income group, or region.

Wholesome Arrangements by the State Government:

The state government has made elaborate arrangements for a free three-day and two-night stay for pilgrims, including AC buses, AC hotel accommodations, and meals — all free of cost.

Devotees aged 50 years and above have been registered for the pilgrimage, with a voter ID card made mandatory for registration. Additionally, each bus will have an attendant to assist passengers, and a medical team will accompany them to provide immediate assistance in case of emergencies.

After completing the pilgrimage, all devotees will receive Prasad, the Chief Minister said, reminding everyone that Punjab is the sacred land of great Gurus, deities, saints, and martyrs who spread the message of brotherhood, unity, and communal harmony.

He emphasized that the scheme aligns with the teachings and philosophy of the great Guru Sahibans, who preached universal love, brotherhood, and peace.

CM Mann also pointed out that a large section of society had been unable to visit sacred places across the country due to various reasons. Therefore, the state government has launched this scheme to facilitate pilgrims in visiting holy sites across Punjab and India.

The Chief Minister urged all devotees to actively participate in various events, religious processions, and main programs being held across different districts and at Sri Anandpur Sahib to commemorate the martyrdom day of the Ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

Additionally, sound and light shows are being held in various districts to depict the life and teachings of the great Guru and to inspire the youth with his values and sacrifices.
