Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann aims to promote education and skill development

SANGRUR: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann unveiled a significant initiative by inaugurating libraries in twelve villages of Sangrur, symbolizing a significant stride towards enhancing educational resources in rural areas. The inauguration took place at the library in Ghanauri Kalan village of Dhuri, where the Chief Minister engaged with school students and emphasized the benefits of utilizing library facilities.

The newly established libraries are equipped with modern amenities, and this effort is part of a larger plan to set up a total of 28 libraries in Sangrur. The entire project involves an expenditure of Rs. 8.4 crore and is the first phase of a broader initiative to extend library facilities to various villages across Punjab.

During the inauguration, CM Mann interacted with school students, discussing study routines and the advantages of utilizing library resources. He also acknowledged and honored the officials responsible for the design and implementation of the libraries, highlighting the collective teamwork involved.

Addressing the community, Chief Minister Mann urged the villagers to actively maintain the libraries to nurture a conducive environment for learning. He emphasized that these facilities would enable children to aspire to higher roles, contributing to the development of their villages and surrounding areas.

Furthermore, CM Mann shed light on a pioneering project aimed at empowering women and girls in Punjab by utilizing their skills for livelihood. He highlighted that women and girls across villages and cities are leveraging their skills through this initiative, generating a monthly income ranging from 50 to 70 thousand rupees. He showcased a video illustrating the 'Pahal' initiative during the program.

Underlining the importance of skill development, Chief Minister Mann drew parallels with China's advancements in this area and stressed the need for India to harness its vast reservoir of skills. He shared plans of involving rural women in designing uniforms for government school children, which would not only provide employment but also contribute to the state's economy.
