Punjab, Haryana, and even Delhi are experiencing the repercussions of a severe cold wave

Punjab Weather Update: As the aftermath of snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh lingers, Punjab finds itself in the clutches of a biting cold wave. The Meteorological Department has responded by issuing yellow alerts for several districts and orange alerts for others, cautioning residents to brace for intensified cold conditions and dense fog.

Following the recent snowfall in neighboring regions, Punjab, Haryana, and even Delhi are experiencing the repercussions of a severe cold wave. Thick fog has enveloped many parts of Punjab, intensifying the already frigid temperatures, with the weather department anticipating a further escalation in the fury of the fog.

The Meteorological Department has taken proactive measures by issuing yellow alerts for numerous districts and upgrading the alert level to orange in others. The orange alert, covering more than half of Punjab, serves as a warning for drivers to exercise caution on the roads due to reduced visibility caused by the dense fog.

According to the latest updates from the Meteorological Department, a multitude of districts in Punjab is currently grappling with very dense fog. The affected areas include Sunam, Sangrur, Barnala, Tapa, Dhuri, Malerkotla, Pataran, Samana, Patiala, Nabha, Rajpura, Derabassi, Fatehgarh Sahib, Amloh, Mohali, Bassi Pathana, Khanna, Payal, Khamanon, Ludhiana East, and Samrala.

The orange alert zones, where heightened caution is advised, encompass regions such as Sardulgarh, Budhlada, Lehra, Mansa, Sunam, Sangrur, Barnala, Tapa, Dhuri, Munak, Pataran, Rajpura, Derabassi, Fatehgarh Sahib, Amloh, Mohali, Talwandi Sabo, Abohar, Malot, Bathinda, Giddarbaha, Fazilka, Rampura Phul, Jaitu, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Jalalabad, Bassi Pathana, Khanna, Kharar, Khamanon, Ludhiana East, Chamkaur Sahib, Samrala, Balachore, Bagha Purana, Faridkot, Moga, Ferozepur, Zira, Patti, Nihal Singhwala, Jagraon, Phillaur, Phagwara, Jalandhar 1, Jalandhar 2, Nawanshahr, Garhshankar, Hoshiarpur, Batala, Dera Baba Nanak, Bhulath, Dasua, Mukerian, Gurdaspur, and Pathankot.

As the dense fog persists, affecting a myriad of districts, residents are urged to exercise caution during travel. The weather department suggests staying updated on the evolving conditions and adhering to safety measures in the wake of the ongoing cold wave.
