Punjab School Holiday, Bhagwant Mann News, Flood and Weather Latest Update: In view of the flood-like situation in several areas and heavy rainfall across the state, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday announced the closure of all schools in the state.
"It has been raining heavily for the past few days, and the Meteorological Department is predicting heavy rain for the next few days, in view of which all primary, secondary, senior secondary government and private schools in the state will be closed from August 27 to August 30," CM Bhagwant Mann tweeted.
Punjab Weather Forecast for August 26: In its forecast, the India Meteorological Department, Chandigarh, has issued red alerts in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Moga, Ludhiana, Barnala, and Sangur, warning of very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and Squalls.
The rest of the districts in the state have been placed under an orange alert with the same weather warnings as those under the red alert, except SAS Nagar and Fazilka, which have been placed under a yellow alert warning of the same weather conditions.
