Parkash Singh Badal passed away in Mohali at the age of 95

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhawan, expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the former Chief Minister of the state, Parkash Singh Badal.

In his condolence message, the speaker said that former Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal played an important role in Sikh and Punjab politics for a long time. His contribution in giving the Shiromani Akali Dal an important place as a regional party and his leadership role amidst many ups and downs will always be remembered.

Expressing his condolences to the Badal family, the speaker prayed to the Almighty to grant the family the strength to bear this great loss and grant eternal rest to the departed soul at his feet.

Parkash Singh Badal passed away on Tuesday at Fortis Hospital in Mohali at the age of 95. His condition was very critical and was kept in ICU. He breathed his last during treatment.

As per the reports, Parkash Singh Badal was suffering from breathing problem. Badal is survived by son and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and daughter Parneet Kaur, who is married to former cabinet minister Adeish Partap Singh Kairon. Notably, Badal's mortal remains are placed at Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) head office in Chandigarh from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Wednesday. After that, the mortal remains will be taken to Badal village in Muktsar district. The cremation will take place at Badal village on Thursday.
