Punjab Government Holiday Latest News: In light of the 2024 elections for the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Punjab Government has announced a paid holiday on 25th September 2024 and 1st October 2024.

An official spokesperson of the Punjab Government revealed today that officers and employees who are registered voters in Jammu and Kashmir but are currently working in Punjab Government Offices, Boards, Corporations, or Educational Institutions will be entitled to a special holiday on these dates, depending on the phase of voting.

To avail of this holiday, individuals must present their voter identity card to the competent authority. Importantly, this holiday will not be counted against their leave balance.

According to this notification, the Government of Punjab has declared paid holiday on 25th September 2024 and 1st October 2024 (as per the phase of voting) for voters who are included in the voter list of Legislative Assembly of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and working in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or any other establishment in the state of Punjab as per the provision of the Section 135B(1) of the Representation of People Act, 1951.
