Security Tightened Outside Mohali Vigilance Office Ahead of Majithia’s Arrival

To maintain law and order following the arrest of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Wednesday morning, security has been intensified outside the Mohali Vigilance Headquarters.

Majithia is expected to be brought to the location any moment. The road has been blocked with barricades, while commando forces and police personnel have been deployed.

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) arrested Majithia in Amritsar on June 25 after registering a fresh case against him for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

While being taken away from his house after a raid by the Vigilance Department, Majithia said in a video posted on his social media handle:
“...Look at how many officers are here to take me away. I don't know if something was planted in my house... but look at the restlessness... A few people were locked in a room and then the police brought me here…”
