CM Mann Assigns Cabinet Ministers to Personally Invite Chief Ministers Across Country to Mark 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Ninth Sikh Guru Latest News: As Punjab prepares to mark the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru with month-long events, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has directed all Cabinet Ministers of Punjab to personally invite the Chief Ministers of various states across the country.
Invitations have already been handed over to several Chief Ministers, while the remaining states will be covered in the coming days, according to a press release by the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD), Punjab, which cited a government spokesperson.
Among the Chief Ministers who have already been invited are the Chief Ministers of Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Odisha.
According to the spokesperson, Ministers Harpal Singh Cheema and Lal Chand Kataruchak have been deputed to deliver invitations to the Chief Ministers of Odisha, West Bengal, and Assam. Similarly, Aman Arora and Tarunpreet Singh Sond will visit Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand.
Dr. Balbir Singh and Hardeep Singh Mundian have been assigned to invite the Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, while Ministers Harbhajan Singh ETO and Barinder Kumar Goyal will deliver invitations to the Chief Ministers of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry.
Likewise, Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Advisor to the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Deepak Bali, will invite the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Bihar, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. Dr. Baljeet Kaur and Mohinder Bhagat have been tasked with inviting the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Furthermore, Ministers Laljit Singh Bhullar and Dr. Ravjot Singh will travel to Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur (under President’s Rule), and Nagaland to extend invitations. Meanwhile, Ministers Gurmeet Singh Khudian and Sanjeev Arora will deliver invitations to the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Goa.
Earlier today, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Advisor (Tourism & Cultural Affairs) Deepak Bali met with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on behalf of the Punjab government to invite him to participate in the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary events of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib.
Month-Long Events to Mark the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji:

The series of events will commence on October 25 at Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Delhi, where Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, cabinet ministers, and other prominent dignitaries will pay their respects. On this occasion, the Chief Minister will also visit the sacred martyrdom sites of Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji, who made unparalleled sacrifices in devotion to the Guru, the press release said.
Later in the evening, a grand Kirtan Darbar will be held at Gurdwara Sri Rakab Ganj Sahib, where a large congregation of devotees is expected to participate.
According to the Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab, which cited Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Tarunpreet Singh Sond, along with the Advisor, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji laid down his life in Delhi to protect human rights and religious freedom, a "sacrifice unmatched" in world history.
“The Ninth Guru was a true symbol of secularism, unity, and universal brotherhood, and his life and philosophy continue to serve as a beacon of light for all humanity,” they added.
The Punjab Government is commemorating the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji with “great devotion and grandeur,” the IPRD press release said today.
