Consignment of arms were sent through drone from Pakistan
AMRITSAR: Failing the attempt of Pakistan-based gangsters and smugglers, the Border Security Force (BSF) jawans have seized the consignment of arms and ammunition. Further investigation in the matter has been initiated.
According to the reports, the consignment of arms were sent through drone from Pakistan. BSF has seized this consignment from area near BOP Metla in Dera Baba Nanak under Gurdaspur sector. BSF jawans were on night patrol, when the soldiers heard the sound of the drone. On witnessing the sound of the drone, the soldiers fired 54 rounds but the drone returned to Pakistan. The search operation was conducted at night itself. After which, a yellow colored packet was recovered from near the border.
After the security check, a consignment of arms were found from the packet. The arms were contained in a wooden box covered in the yellow packet, so that they would not be damaged if dropped from the drone. Reports said that 5 pistols, 10 magazines and 91 rounds have been recovered from the packet.
