46 Kanals of Property Attached in Amritsar; Action Taken Under UAPA Against SFJ Head

CHANDIGARH: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken decisive action against Garmkhayali Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, the head of the banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), by seizing his properties in Punjab and Chandigarh. Pannu, known for his anti-India rhetoric in Canada and other countries, has faced repercussions for threatening Hindus residing in Canada during the recent Canada-India dispute.

Under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the NIA has successfully seized 46 kanals of property belonging to Pannu in Khankot village, located in his native Amritsar. The seized property primarily consists of arable land, making a significant statement against his activities.

In addition to the property in Amritsar, Pannu's residence in Sector 15 C of Chandigarh has also been confiscated by the NIA. Notably, this is not the first time Pannu's assets have been attached, as a similar action was taken in 2020. However, this recent action signifies a step forward in ensuring that legally Pannu no longer retains ownership of these properties, as they now belong to the government.
