Providing information in this regard, Vigilance Bureau spokesperson informed that the accused has been nabbed in Malout city. The resident has been detained on the complaint of a widow woman. He informed that the complainant had called the Vigilance Bureau and complained that the Prime Minister Instead of receiving the amount sanctioned for constructing his house under the Housing Scheme (Urban) Mission, the said clerk provided him with Rs 50,000. Demanded bribe but upon agreement the individual agreed to receive the money in instalments. Received it.

The official added that, after initial interrogation of this grievance, the Vigilance Bureau team had laid the net. and the above employee was caught red-handed accepting the first installment of Rs 20,000 from the residence of complainant. The Bureau team recovered the amount of bribe from the accused on the spot in the presence of two witnesses of the Government. Recovered it.

In this context, a case has been filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act in Bathinda Range Police Station of Vigilance Bureau. Has been initiated and further investigation based on this case is ongoing.
The Bureau once again emphasized that it is dedicated to eliminating corruption from the State and Appealed that if any government officer or employee seeks bribe, then the Chief Minister should Report a complaint on Anti-Corruption Action Line's WhatsApp number '9501-200-200'.

The spokesperson also made it clear that all the complaints that come to the Vigilance Bureau will be thoroughly investigated. Investigation will be conducted through legal procedures and if evidence is established then such accused will be punished. Strict action will be taken against him.
