CM Bhagwant Mann Leads Farewell for 72 Principals Embarking on Education Enrichment Program

In a significant initiative to enhance the quality of education in government schools, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of Punjab bid farewell to 72 principals as they embarked on a journey to Singapore for a specialized management training program. The event was graced by Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Punjab School Education Board Chairperson Satveer Bedi, who also extended their best wishes to the principals.

The 72 selected principals from various government schools in Punjab will undergo an intensive 5-day training at the prestigious Singapore Academy, scheduled from July 24 to July 28. The primary objective of the program is to equip the principals with advanced management skills and innovative teaching methodologies that can be applied to benefit students and staff upon their return.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the initiative, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated, "Our commitment to providing high-level education in Punjab is taking another significant step forward today. This batch of 72 principals marks the third group of educators sent for training in Singapore. We aim to provide world-class education to the children of Punjab, and this endeavor is aligned with that vision. Just as we took students to witness the landing of Chandrayaan-3 at ISRO, we are now empowering our principals with global knowledge and best practices."

Highlighting the potential of Punjab's students, Chief Minister Mann added, "Our children possess immense talent; they simply need the right nurturing and guidance. Notably, 93% of the principals selected for this training are embarking on their first foreign trip, and we are dedicated to providing them with all necessary support in their chosen fields."

The Punjab government has previously organized similar training programs for principals of various schools, underscoring its commitment to elevating the standard of education in the state. Authorities are optimistic that this training will lead to positive changes in school education and result in improved academic outcomes.

On another note, the Chief Minister addressed concerns regarding the broadcasting of Gurbani (Sikh religious scriptures). He clarified that the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib had not specified any particular channel for Gurbani broadcasting in his letter. Chief Minister Mann raised questions about the motives behind the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) sending a request letter solely to a specific channel, hinting at a potential attempt to monopolize broadcasting rights.

Responding to the Governor's declaration of the Legislative Assembly session as unconstitutional, Chief Minister Mann defended the decision and stated, "We called this meeting after consulting constitutional experts, and we do not engage in reckless actions."

Taking a swipe at the opposition, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann humorously remarked, "Congress has declared themselves as the opposition party, and I wish they remain in the opposition forever."
