NIA charges Jatinder Singh in Punjab terror case latest news: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has chargesheeted Jatinder Singh alias Joti, a close associate of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa and gangster Pavittar Batala, in connection with a Punjab terror conspiracy case.
According to the NIA, Jatinder was involved in the illegal procurement and supply of firearms from Madhya Pradesh to Punjab-based gangsters. He played a key role in facilitating the delivery of weapons to ground operatives of Pavittar Batala, who is closely linked to designated individual terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa.
Investigations revealed that Batala’s foreign-based associates were coordinating Jatinder’s operations within India. The supplied weapons were reportedly used by Batala’s operatives in Punjab to carry out BKI’s criminal-terror activities.
The NIA also found that Jatinder sourced illegal firearms from Baljeet Singh alias Rana Bhai, a known arms supplier from Madhya Pradesh. Baljeet has already been arrested and chargesheeted by the NIA in connection with the case.
To avoid detection by law enforcement agencies, the accused were using virtual phone numbers and encrypted communication applications, the NIA stated.
