Jai Inder Kaur Aims to Combat Rising Drug Consumption Among Punjab Youth

PATIALA: Jai Inder Kaur, the President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab Mahila Morcha, has taken a significant step in the battle against the escalating issue of drug consumption among the youth in Punjab. She initiated a drug awareness campaign, commencing from the village of Muradpur in Samana. Following interactions with local villagers, Jai Inder Kaur expressed her deep concern, stating, "The increasing drug consumption among the youth and the tragic consequences have become the foremost issue in Punjab. To raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drugs in our society, I have launched this campaign today in Muradpur, Samana. In the days to come, I intend to extend this initiative to every village across Punjab."

The BJP leader went on to emphasize the urgency of the situation, saying, "Today, a significant portion of our youth is grappling with drug-related issues, and we must come together to support them in emerging from this darkness. Over the past year, my interactions in various villages have consistently revealed one common plea from women, a desperate call to save their youth from the clutches of drugs. Thus, I have initiated this campaign to propagate awareness against this menace and inspire young individuals to seek assistance in their battle against this affliction, which is eroding the fabric of our society."

Jai Inder Kaur also highlighted the commitment of the BJP government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in addressing the drug crisis in Punjab. She pointed out that the central government has established two offices of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the state, dedicated to curbing drug trafficking. She emphasized the collective responsibility of the public in preventing drug trafficking, stating, "It is incumbent upon us, as citizens, to work in tandem with the NCB to put an end to this menace at our level."
