Punjab Women's Comm On 'Rape' & Obscene Video of Punjab Uppal Farm Girl Latest News: The Punjab State Women's Commission, taking suo moto cognizance of the case relating to the violation of the rights, dignity and safety of a 19 year old girl from Punjab’s Jalandhar district, has directed the authorities to submit a detailed report within 48 hours.

The teenager identified as Gurmanjot Kaur, daughter of Mr. Paramjit Singh, a resident of village Pabhawan, district Jalandhar, was allegedly drugged and raped by two boys. An obscene video of her was made, which was subsequently shared on social media, and the commission called it a ‘very serious matter.’

 “The Commission takes such matters very seriously and is committed to ensuring that the rights, dignity and status of women in Punjab are protected,” the commission said.

The Commission has written to the local police, asking them to provide a complete status report on the investigation, including actions taken against offenders for circulating the video, by August 22.
