Holiday across Punjab in observance of Good Friday, latest news:
Chandigarh, April 17, 2025 — The Punjab government has announced that Friday, April 18, will be a public holiday across the state in observance of Good Friday, an important religious occasion for Christians.
According to the official government notification, all schools, colleges, government offices, and banks will remain closed for the day.
With the holiday coinciding with the weekend, which follows on April 19 (Saturday) and April 20 (Sunday), residents of the state can enjoy a three-day long weekend. People are advised to complete any pending work with government departments by today, as offices will reopen on Monday, April 21.
