The Cultural Affairs and Tourism Minister, Punjab,  Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu has expressed profound grief and shock over the demise of eminent radio and tv folk singer Mr. Jasdev Yamla who was the son of legendary folk singer late Lal Chand Yamla Jatt. Deeply condoling the demise of Jasdev Yamla with the latter's family, Mr. Sidhu has said that the passing away of Jasdev Yamla has left a big void in the Punjabi folk singing and the contribution of this family towards clean and quality folk singing can never be forgotten.

He prayed to the almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss. The Chairman of the Punjab Kala Parishad Dr. Surjit Patar and Secretary General Dr. Lakhwinder Johal have in their condolence message said that Jasdev Yamla held aloft the banner of traditional singing style of his father Lal Chand Yamla Jatt. Dr. Patar has termed the demise of Jasdev Yamla as an irreparable loss to the Punjabi singing fraternity. 

The Media Coordinator of the Punjab Kala Parishad Mr. Ninder Ghugianvi while recalling his association with Jasdev Yamla said that the latter had a cheerful personality and was living a simple life following in the footsteps of his father. Mr. Ghugianvi also recalled his relationship with the yamla jatt family based on 'Ustad - Shagird ' tradition. It is worth mentioning that Jasdev Yamla was at present the President of the Yamla Jatt Yaadgari Trust.
