Punjab has excelled in five key reform areas in India

Recognizing the pro-industry policies of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Government of India today honored Punjab with the "Top Achiever" award under the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) 2024, according to an official release.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal presented the prestigious award to the Punjab Government during a ceremony held in the national capital, New Delhi.

It is noteworthy that Punjab has excelled in five key reform areas in India—business start-up, construction permits, investment attraction, sector-specific healthcare services, and service management.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, has declared Punjab a "Top Achiever" and commended its transparent, efficient, and investor-friendly business policies. This recognition reaffirms Punjab's leading role in the field of ease of doing business in the state.

It is noteworthy that, under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab is continuously scaling new heights of industrial development. Transparent governance, industry-friendly policies, and a favorable investment climate are consistently attracting investment into the state. Punjab's peaceful and harmonious environment have significantly boosted industrial investment.

Since the Mann government came to power in March 2022, the state has received investment proposals worth ₹1.23 lakh crore, which will create employment opportunities for approximately 4.7 lakh youth. With unprecedented progress in sectors such as food processing, textiles, auto components, hand tools, bicycles, IT, and tourism, Punjab has become a role model for other states.

As a result of the state government's pro-industry policies, Punjab is now attracting investment from developed countries such as Japan, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, France, and Spain.

With the government's concerted efforts, Punjab is rapidly emerging as a preferred investment destination not only in India but globally. Punjab also ranks among the leading states in ease of doing business.

In addition, the 'Fast Track Punjab Portal' launched by the state government has become India's most advanced single-window system, providing over 150 business services online and completely eliminating the need for offline applications.

This achievement by Punjab is a testament to the state's industry-friendly approach, administrative efficiency, and investor confidence.
