According to an official press release, the documentary was formally unveiled by Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Dairy Development, Punjab.

The documentary stands out as a unique initiative, created entirely by the department’s own team of doctors and paramedics, the release stated.

Over 700 villages faced unprecedented devastation during the floods. The department’s 494 dedicated teams braved treacherous conditions to provide life-saving doorstep treatment to livestock, navigating submerged areas to reach affected farmers, the minister said.

Free vaccinations for livestock and Free Medicines:

The minister further informed that over 2.53 lakh livestock were vaccinated free of cost against Haemorrhagic Septicaemia (HS). The department also distributed free medicines worth Rs 37 lakh in the flood-affected districts. In addition, mastitis testing kits and dewormers were provided to help farmers detect and manage common livestock diseases effectively.

Preventive Measures to Contain Disease Outbreaks:

The department also undertook several preventive measures to combat the spread of diseases in the aftermath of the floods, the press release stated.

Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry Department, Rahul Bhandari, said, “We faced a significant risk of disease outbreaks, but our proactive approach helped mitigate it. We launched a massive free vaccination drive in all affected villages, protecting livestock from diseases like HS. Additionally, to address the acute shortage of green fodder, we distributed Uromin Licks and mineral mixtures free of cost to maintain animal health.”
