Chandigarh Traffic Police has issued a regular E-mail in this regard

CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh Traffic Police issued clarity that there is no need to panic if traffic rules are violated while giving way to any emergency vehicle in the city. Traffic Police said that there will be no challans will be issued to violators while giving way to emergency vehicles. If someone's challan is deducted, they can contact the traffic police.

According to the information received, it is generally noted that if people commit any traffic violation while giving way to emergency vehicles (ambulance, fire brigade) then they get challan. Dispelling this notion of common people, Chandigarh Police has appealed to the people to give way to emergency vehicles on priority basis without worrying about challan.
