Indian Authorities Continue to Disrupt Pakistani Smugglers' Heroin Trade along the Border

FAZILKA: In an ongoing battle against cross-border drug smuggling, the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) Fazilka of the Punjab Police has achieved a significant breakthrough. A daring raid led to the arrest of an Indian drug smuggler and the seizure of a substantial consignment of heroin weighing 15 kilograms, with an estimated value of Rs 105 crore.

According to Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, this operation was meticulously planned as part of intelligence efforts to dismantle the network of drug traffickers operating across the border. The arrested Indian smuggler was found transporting the illicit substance cleverly concealed within a trolley filled with straw.

DGP Gaurav Yadav emphasized the unwavering commitment of the Punjab Police to disrupt the nefarious heroin trade flowing in from Pakistan. Notably, this seizure comes on the heels of SSOC Fazilka's remarkable success in confiscating 147 kilograms of heroin in the past 45 days.

A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at the Sadar Fazilka police station, and legal proceedings are underway. Simultaneously, authorities are diligently interrogating the apprehended individual to gather vital information in the matter.
