Congress and SAD Played Politics over the demise of thousands of people: Kuldeep Dhaliwal
CHANDIGARH: The Proceedings of the house are continued on the fourth day of the the budget session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Congress raised the issue of the murder of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala in the House. Meanwhile, the house heated up over the matter. Amid Uproar, Debate started between MLAs and ministers of Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring demanded justice in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case. He said that Sidhu's parents are sitting on protest outside the Vidhan Sabha, seeking justice for their son. Although the Punjab government has arrested many accused. He asked why the Punjab government is not arresting the gangsters and the key accused in the matter?.
Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that no compromise will be made with the law and order of Punjab. The pain of Sidhu Moose Wala is for all of Punjab. We are working in this case with full responsibility. May God not give such unbearable pain to any family. He said that the names of 40 people have been registered in this case, 29 people have been arrested while 2 have had an encounter. The process of bringing Goldy Brar from abroad is in the hands of the Centre. Most of the accused shooters were minors.
Regarding the security of Sidhu Moose Wala, Aman Arora said Sidhu Moosewala had two security personnel with him on the day of the murder, but he did not took them along with him, nor did he took his bullet proof vehicle. Slamming opposition, he said that Congress is misleading the people of Punjab.
Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that he has met Sidhu Moose Wala's father and CM Mann will also meet him. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has assured them of Justice. Kuldeep Dhaliwal said that Congress and Akali Dal leaders have played politics over the death of thousands of people.
Notably, AAP MLAs raised slogans against Congress in the house. After this uproar, the Congress walked out of the Vidhan Sabha. Meanwhile, Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer presented the crime record of the last 12 years in Punjab. He said that during the tenure of AAP in the year 2022, the second least number of criminal incidents have occurred in Punjab, but the opposition is defaming AAP every day.
Targeting BJP, Meet Hayer further said that people committing crimes in Punjab are coming from BJP-ruled states. He said that states led by BJP have become nurseries of gangsters. According to NCRB, he said that Punjab is at number 17. The national average for offenses under the Arms Act was 4.8 and Punjab's 1.4. While 6 of Haryana, 13 of UP and 17-18 of Rajasthan have been mentioned.
