Punjab IMD Weather Update, Fog Alert Today: Punjab has been witnessing a slight drop in temperature, especially a few days after the rainfall that poured on November 30. In the meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for dense fog across the state.
According to the information, the warning for dense fog across several districts in Punjab has been issued for only Friday i,e, December 8. As per the warning issued by the IMD, the warning is only issued for December 8 and not other days in this week.
Notably, the warning has been issued in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala, and SAS Nagar, where IMD has predicted dense fog for December 8.
As compared to yesterday, December 7, a fall of -0.9 degrees Celsius in an average minimum temperature was reported on December 8. However, it was still near normal in the state. Meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded in Ludhiana where the mercury level was at 5.7 degrees.
Apart from Ludhiana, Chandigarh recorded 9.3 degrees Celcius, Chandigarh (Airport) recorded 10.4 degrees Celcius, Amritsar 8.2, Patiala 8.5, Pathankot 9.4, Bathinda 7.4, Faridkot 6.6, Gurdaspur 8.2, Ballowal Saunkhri 9.3, Barnala 8.4, Fatehgarh Sahib 8.8, Firozpur 7.0, Gurdaspur 7.6, Jalandhar 6.4, Moga 6.6, and SBS Nagar recorded 9.6-degree celcius.
