Opposition is questioning the government over the matter
MANSA: A Recent Recruitment drive for seven sub-inspectors in Mansa, Punjab, has stirred up controversy, with six out of the seven candidates hailing from neighboring Haryana. The issue has prompted opposition parties to question Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's administration, particularly its commitment to providing job opportunities for Punjab's youth.
Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira expressed his concerns via 'X' (Formerly called as Twitter), directing a query to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. In his tweet, Khaira asked why the youth of Punjab should refrain from seeking opportunities abroad when, out of the seven newly appointed sub-inspectors in Mansa district, six are from Haryana, leaving only one recruit from Punjab.
Notably, This development has raised questions about the state government's preference for candidates from neighboring states over its own residents. Critics argue that such a disproportionate representation of candidates from Haryana in a Punjab recruitment process is both puzzling and concerning, especially in the context of the ongoing efforts to boost employment opportunities for the youth of Punjab.
