Shocking Case of Animal Cruelty: Dog Allegedly Burnt to Death in Mohali, Punjab Latest News: A shocking case of animal cruelty has come to light from Punjab’s Mohali, where a dog was allegedly burnt to death by some unknown persons.

The incident came to notice on 25 September around 8 a.m., and a complaint was filed the next day, 26 September, at Mataur Police Station. The FIR was filed by Manveer Kaur, a resident of Mohali, District SAS Nagar.

Her FIR reads, “I wish to inform that on 25.09.2025 at around 8:00 a.m., while I was out walking my dog near Homeland Regalia, I noticed a dog lying burnt and dead in the middle divider of Airport Road.”

“It appeared that some unknown person(s) had tied its hind legs with a rope, set it on fire, and brutally killed it. I am not aware whether the dog had an owner or was stray,” the FIR further stated.

She, along with her neighbour Sama Chhabra, submitted a written complaint and requested strict legal action against the unknown person(s) responsible for killing the dog in such a cruel manner.

Following the complaint, ASI Sanjay Kumar, along with Senior Constable Ajaib Singh (No. 2306/SAS Nagar) and Constable Sukhchain Singh (No. 1788/SAS Nagar), reached the scene at Homeland Regalia, Airport Road, Sector 70, Mohali.

The complainant, Manveer Kaur, was called to the site, where a dog was found dead in a burnt condition on the middle divider.

Upon examining the scene and reviewing the contents of the complaint, it was found that an offence under Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) had been committed, the FIR stated.

Accordingly, a case has been registered against unknown person(s).
