BKI And ISYF Listed Alongside Hamas And Hezbollah In A 2025 Assessment In Canada Latest News: A new Canadian government has identified Khalistani extremist groups as organisations exploiting Canada’s financial system and diaspora networks to raise funds, the Tribune reported.
According to the news report, the organisations include Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) alongside Hamas and Hezbollah, listed in the 2025 Assessment of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Risks. The assessment was released this week.
The assessment states that politically motivated violent extremist (PMVE) entities continue to pose significant financing risks, the Tribune report said.
Khalistani groups have been described as operating through “smaller pockets of individuals” in the assessment, and it noted that they raise money from sections of Canada’s Sikh diaspora and non-profit organisations.
