'Elections are not fought for the next election, they are fought for the next generation', Navjot Sidhu

CHANDIGARH: In a significant political development, former Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu has expressed his support for an alliance between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Sidhu emphasized that the decision of the party high command must be upheld and urged politicians to put aside personal interests in favor of safeguarding democracy.

Navjot Sidhu took to 'X' (Formerly Called as Twitter) to share his stance. Sidhu wrote, "The decision of the party high command is supreme . It is for a greater cause, National interest has been kept paramount to honour the spirit of the constitution and to free the enchained institutions which draw their strength from constitutional values. Petty perish pump politics loaded with selfish vested interests should be discarded for safeguarding our DEMOCRACY. Elections are not fought for the next election, they are fought for the next generation. Long live INDIA. Jurega BHARAT."

Notably, This development comes in the wake of the Congress High Command's formation of an alliance with AAP and other parties at the national level. Consequently, discussions regarding a potential alliance between the Punjab Congress and AAP for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections have gained momentum. While Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has openly supported the notion of setting aside minor differences for the greater good, prominent leaders within the Punjab Congress have remained relatively silent on the prospect of an alliance with AAP.
