Spokesman News Service: Chandigarh, December 5: State Vigilance Bureau, today nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) posted as investigation Officer Lehra Police station, Sangrur district red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 28,000.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Billu Singh was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Harmesh of village Nanri in Fatehbad (Haryana).

The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused ASI was demanding Rs 1,50,000 for not registering case under NDPS act against him and the deal was struck at Rs. 80,000 and he had already paid 20,000 as a first instalment to him.

After verifying his information, the vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot taking bribe of Rs. 28,000 of second instalment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Patiala and further investigation was under progress.
