Punjab has been witnessing dense fog in several parts of the state during morning and evening hours.

Punjab Weather Update News Today: Punjab has been witnessing a biting chill as the temperature across all the districts of the state fell below 8 degrees Celsius on Friday. In the meanwhile, the mercury level in several parts of Punjab dipped below 6 degrees Celsius. 

According to information, the lowest temperature in Punjab was witnessed in Gurdaspur where the mercury level dipped to 4.5 degrees Celsius.

As per the India Meteorological Department, almost all the stations (district) witnessed the temperature below 8 degrees Celsius. Reportedly, Chandigarh witnessed 6.7 degrees Celsius, while the temperature in Chandigarh (Airport) was at 8.4 degrees Celsius. 

Likewise, the temperature in Amritsar was at 6.6 Degrees Celsius, and the same was in Ludhiana, 6.3 Degrees Celsius in Patiala, 6.8 Degrees Celsius in Pathankot, 6.0 Degrees Celsius in Bathinda, Gurdaspur (AWS) and Faridkot, 4.5 Degrees Celsius in Gurdaspur, 5.7 Degrees Celsius in Ballowal Saunkhri (SBS Nagar), 7.2 Degrees Celsius in Barnala, 7.8 Degrees Celsius in Faridkot_AMFU (AWS), 6.9 Degrees Celsius in Fatehgarh Sahib, 7.7 in Samrala, 7.8 in Mohali, 7.5 in Ropar and 5.7 Degrees Celsius in Balachaur (SBS Nagar). 

On the other hand, it has been reported that there was a rise of 9 degrees Celsius in minimum temperature, as compared to yesterday (January 4). However, it is still near normal in the state.

Notably, Punjab has been witnessing dense fog in several parts of the state during morning and evening hours while there is hardly sunshine during the afternoon hours.
