Notably, the by-elections are scheduled to be held in Gidderbaha, Barnala, Chabbewal, and Dera Baba Nanak.

Punjab By-election 2024 Date and Schedule Latest News Today: In a major development, the date of by-elections in Punjab has been changed. The Voting will now be held on November 20. The decision was taken after various political parties (including BJP, Congress, BSP, RLD) and some social organizations appealed to the Election Commission to change the date of elections in the constituencies where by-elections were scheduled to be held on November 13, 2024. 

Notably, the by-elections are scheduled to be held in Gidderbaha, Barnala, Chabbewal, and Dera Baba Nanak. It is pertinent to mention that there has been no change in the date of the counting of votes, which will be held on November 23.

It is worth mentioning that various parties had approached the Election Commission and requested that the dates be changed in view of the Gurpurab, which is slated for November 15. Considering the requests and keeping in mind the religious sentiments, the Election Commission decided to change the date of voting.
