On the instructions of Punjab School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla, amount of around Rs 2.5 crore has been released for mid-day meal

Chandigarh: On the instructions of Punjab School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla, an amount of around Rs 2.5 crore has been released for the mid-day meal so that the cooks/helpers under the mid-day meal could be paid on time.

Vijay Inder SinglaVijay Inder SinglaDisclosing this here today a spokesperson of the school education department said that on the direction of the Education Minister, funds of Rs 2,49,78,780 have been released by the Punjab Mid Day Meal Society.

In a letter sent to all the district education officers of the state, instructions have also been given for the immediate distribution of this remuneration and to record it in the ledger book as per the component.

Punjab governmentPunjab governmentAccording to the spokesperson Rs 22,03,200 has been released for Ludhiana district, Rs 17,89,200 for Jalandhar, Rs 17,35,080 for Patiala district, Rs 16,69,800 for Amritsar and Rs 14,37,480 for Sangrur.

Funds for other districts also have been released according to their needs.
