Punjab Police Issues Driving Advisory Amid Heavy Rain, 12 Districts Under Red Alert

Over 800 villages in the state are inundated. Punjab police and other disaster management teams are working round the clock for relief

Punjab Police Issues Driving Advisory Amid Heavy Rain, Punjab Weather Updates Today Latest News: The Punjab police, in an effort to ensure public safety, have issued advisories to commuters, especially drivers, amid heavy rainfall and waterlogging conditions in many areas of the state. 
It has urged drivers to stay alert and drive cautiously during the rain and has asked them to keep the following important safety tips in mind to ensure a safe journey.

Driving Tips in Rain as issued by Punjab Police: 
•    Ensure your car has sufficient tyre treads
•    Ensure your wiper blades are wiping clean
•    Ensure properly functioning brakes
•    Keep distance and speed in check
•    Using the lights when needed
•    Navigating flooded streets.
•    Always best to top-up.

Over 800 villages in the state are inundated. Punjab police and other disaster management teams are working round the clock for relief and rescue operations across the state. 

Punjab Weather Nowcast for September 1 (Valid up to 2 PM Today): IMD Chandigarh has issued heavy rain alert over parts of Patiala, SAS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Rupnagar, Moga, Faridkot, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, SBS Nagar, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar and Gurdaspur.

According to IMD data updated yesterday, twelve districts in the state are under a red alert and have been warned of heavy rainfall. Fresh updates for today are yet to be released.

All twelve districts under the red alert are in the Eastern Punjab.
