Cheema said that the home minister did not give any assurance of releasing 'Punjab's rightful dues of 60,000 crore rupees'. 

Punjab Floods, CM Mann Appeals to Punjabis Across the World for Help, No Funds from Centre Latest News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday said that people are continuously reaching to contribute in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to help the flood victims of various districts of Punjab and he further appealed to every Punjabi living across the world and those in Punjab itself to come forward and help Punjab as it goes through one of the worst flood devastation of recent times. 

As of now, over 1000 villages are inundated, thousands are evacuated, connectivity is lost, thousands of acres of crops are underwater, and many cattle have been washed away and the situation is dire.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann posted on X, saying, “Assistance is continuously reaching the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to help the flood victims of various districts of Punjab.”

Today, the Punjab Cricket Association has donated Rs 25 lakh to the fund to help the affected families, the CM added in his post. 
He made an appeal to Punjabis living across the world, asking for help in the post, saying, “It’s an appeal to Punjabi people living in the country and abroad, including Punjab, to come to the aid of our people in difficult circumstances and support the government.”

50 lakh rupees for the Chief Minister's Relief Fund So Far:

Cabinet Minister, MLA Punjab, Harpal Cheema, today told the media that “Excise and Taxation Department employees have collected 50 lakh rupees for the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.”

“From the department, we are continuously helping flood victims, and at the same time, I appeal to the rest of the people that let us stand by our people in difficult times,” he added. 

Talking about the telephonic conversation between Home Minister Amit Shah and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann this morning, Cheema said that the home minister did not give any assurance of releasing 'Punjab’s rightful dues of 60,000 crore rupees'. 
The telephonic conversation came after Punjab’s Chief Minister had written to the Home Minister.

“After the letter written by CM @BhagwantMann, the Union Home Minister finally woke up and spoke to CM Mann on the phone. But sadly, I must say that even after being informed about the situation, he gave no assurance about releasing Punjab’s rightful dues of 60,000 crore rupees," Cheema said.

Trade Wing District Mohali Distributes Relief Material In Pathankot

Today, Trade Wing District Mohali's in-charge Ranjit Pal Singh and team distributed relief material in the flood-affected areas of Pathankot,” he told the media.

He slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for tweeting about ‘every little matter’ and for not saying a single word about the devastation in Punjab. 

“Forget about announcing a relief package—at such a horrific time, even withholding Punjab’s pending funds shows the BJP’s hatred towards Punjab and its people,” he added. 

Miniters Donate One Month’s Salary For Relief Support

Last week, Punjab CM Mann, along with his entire cabinet and all Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs, decided to donate their one month’s salary to support flood relief efforts. The decision was announced on August 28, 2025,

Additionally, all Members of the Punjab Congress Legislature Party on 29 August 2025, standing in solidarity with the flood-affected families of the state, also unanimously decided to donate one Month’s Salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the flood victims.

Rescue and relief operations are ongoing round the clock.
