Punjab Police Arrests 2 Influencers for Aiding Pak-Based Terrorist Shehzad Bhatti

In a major operation, the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) of Punjab Police has successfully arrested two social media influencers for their active involvement in pro-terror propaganda and collaboration with Pakistan-based gangster and designated terrorist Shehzad Bhatti. 

Arrested are identified as Manveer Singh @ Mani Moosewala, son of Jasvir Singh, a resident of Village Ghangas, Tehsil Payal, District Ludhiana and Sukhvir Singh S/o Balwinder Singh R/o Village Budhlada, Mansa.

From the arrested Sukhvir Singh has criminal background of murder case registered against him in year 2020 and has remained in Bathinda and Mansa Jail for around 02 years. After coming out of Jail Sukhvir activated himself on social media and got popular on Instagram platform, "Sukhveer_khipal" being his Instagram ID. 

While Manveer Singh, who initially worked as a bike mechanic and later as a photographer, transitioned into a social media influencer by actively posting content on his Instagram account "mani_moosewala". He gained significant online popularity and began receiving monetary benefits through his social media activity.

During digital surveillance and intelligence inputs, it came to light that Both Sukhveer Singh and Manveer Singh had uploaded several videos glorifying and supporting Shehzad Bhatti, a gangster-turned-terrorist operating from Dubai, with backing from Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI. His social media content not only propagated pro-terrorist narratives but also featured direct collaborations and tagged communications with Bhatti, thereby confirming his connection with the terrorist network.

Subsequently, it was revealed that Sukhveer Singh and Manveer Singh had come under the influence and direction of Shehzad Bhatti, who has been actively recruiting and radicalizing youth from Punjab through social media, luring them with money, online fame, and ideology. Bhatti is a wanted accused in several terror-related cases including the grenade attack on social media influencer Roger Sandhu in Jalandhar earlier this year, and Multiple firing incidents and extortion cases in Punjab. 

He is also known to maintain close coordination with Happy Passian, a USA-based key operative of the banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), also supported by Pakistan's ISI. Happy Passian has orchestered many Grenade attacks on police stations and government buildings in Punjab.
The arrest of Sukhveer Singh and Manveer Singh @ Mani Moosewala is a crucial development in unearthing the nexus of anti national propaganda and terror plots being orchestrated from foreign soil by ISI-backed individuals using social media as a recruitment and radicalization.

A case under relevant provisions of the BNS has been registered at Police Station SSOC, SAS Nagar, and further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend more individuals linked to this terror ecosystem.

This arrests serves as a stern message to elements misusing social media for anti-national activities and reaffirms Punjab Police's commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the state.
